Speaking as the spokesperson for the team, Paul was hesitant to provide Hannah’s answer and he instantly knew it was incorrect before Bradley confirmed it.

Despite this, Mark caught the team up and for them, The Chase was over.

Naturally, viewers were furious with Hannah for sabotaging the teams chance of taking home just shy of £10,000 each.

I don’t think I’ve ever been as angry with an episode of #thechase as I have been tonight. Daddy Long Legs?? Daddy Long Legs!!!!! FML!!” A tweet read.

Someone else wrote online: “Good television there on #TheChase. The person who took -£5k just answered ”daddy long legs” to the question, ’what is the UK’s most venomous spider?’, costing everyone £9k.”

“Hannah – went with the minus offer, contributed nothing in the final chase, convinced the team to go for a laughable wrong answer and therefore cost them the prize money.  What a tool! #thechase,” another stated.

The Chase airs weekday evenings at 5pm on ITV.
