Succession season 3 HBO release date, cast, trailer, plot: When is new series out? | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

HBO has renewed Succession for season three after just two episodes of its second series. Succession has proved such a hit with viewers on HBO in the US and Sky Atlantic in the UK that the decision to announce the renewal came earlier than many expected. However, with the show nominated for a number of Emmy Awards, the success of Succession looks set to continue and here are all the details so far on season three.

When will Succession season 3 be released?

With Succession still in the midst of its second season, a release date for the next series is yet to be announced by HBO.

HBO released season one in June 2018 and the second series of Succession in August 2019.

If the same time frame between release dates is adhered to, season three may be released at some point in October 2020.

Succession was also simulcast in the US and UK at exactly the same time this year – this will likely continue for season three.

What will happen in Succession season 3?

Succession’s story in the next series will depend highly on how the current season ends.

Season two doesn’t finish until September 29, 2019, so there will be a better idea of plots by then.

Despite the mystery, Executive Vice President of HBO Drama Programming, Francesca Orsi is excited as to what’s in store.

After announcing the renewal, she said: “We are elated that Succession and its exploration of wealth, power and family has resonated so powerfully with audiences,

“We cannot wait to see how the complex characters that Jesse Armstrong has created continue to navigate this captivating, ruthless world of the uber-rich.”

Who will star in Succession season 3?

Barring any dramatic characters exits or deaths in season two, several of the Roy family will be back.

Head of the family, Logan Roy, is played by Golden Globe-nominee Brian Cox.

He and his family star in every episode of Succession to date.

Cox will likely be joined once again by on-screen wife Hiam Abbass as Marcia, Nicholas Braun as Greg and Kieran Culkin as Roman.

Australian actress Sarah Snook will likely return as Shiv while there could be returns for Jeremy Strong as Kendall and Alan Ruck as Connor.

Is there a trailer for Succession season 3?

The trailer is still yet to drop for the third season.
