In December 2018, the green light was given by Netflix for a second season of Narcos: Mexico which is expected to premiere very soon on the global streaming site. José María Yazpik stars as Amado Carillo Fuentes in the series, who was also known as El Señor de Los Cielos [translates to Lord of the Skies]. Earlier this month, Yazpik may have given away some details about the series release date on his social media.
When is Narcos: Mexico season 2 out?
Netflix has not officially announced the release date of Narcos: Mexico season two but one of the show’s main cast members has reportedly revealed the exact month the new season will drop.
In a now-deleted comment on his personal Instagram account, Yazpik revealed that Narcos: Mexico season two would premiere in February.
When asked by a fan if there is a Narcos: Mexico season two release date was, Pazik simply replied ‘Febrero’ with translates to February in English.
Hopefully, if Yazpik is correct, this would mean Narcos: Mexico season two will premiere in February 2020 and not February 2021.
The first series premiered in November 2018, so it is hard to predict when the series will actually air.

What will happen in Narcos: Mexico season 2?
Narcos: Mexico is the sister series to the critically acclaimed series Narcos.
The original series charted the rise of the drug trade in Columbia and Pablo Escobar (played by Wagner Moura), Narcos: Mexico follows the rise of the illegal drug trade in Mexico.
Season one focused on the rise and fall of the Felix Gallardo (Diego Luna) and the Guadalajara drug cartel in the 1980s and the story of DEA Agent Kiki Camarena (Michael Peña).
Camarena was tortured and killed in 1985 by members of the Guadalajara drug cartel after they discovered he had infiltrated their operation.
There is potential viewers could see Gallardo finally captured in 1989 and jailed for killing Camarena.
Gallardo is currently serving out his 37-year jail term in a prison in Mexico for the killing.
The seconds series is likely to follow the decline of the Guadalajara cartel and the subsequent rise of the Sinaloa Cartel.
The Sinaloa Cartel was established in the late 1980s by Joaquín ‘El Chapo’ Guzmán (Alejandro Edda), following the Guadalajara drug cartel’s demise.
Narcos: Mexico season two will also see the efforts of the DEA as they try to stop the growth of Mexcian drug network.
The trailer for the upcoming series teases more of what fans can expect.
DEA Agent Walt Breslin (Scoot McNair) narrates: “What happened in Guadalajara in the early ’80s was the beginning.
“What happened in Guadalajara gave birth to the first cartel. From that, others would follow. And the violence and money and drugs, they just f***ing explode. It changed the DEA, too.
“Maybe it woke us up, I don’t know. But it’s where the first shot was fired, the one that started the drug war. And after that, none of it would be the same. How could it be?”
The finale ends with him saying: “We knew we were in a war. Now, it was our turn. Pretty soon, they were gonna know, they were in one too.”
