Caitlyn, 70, is just one of 10 campmates still in the running to become the next member of the I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! royal family. With the final of the ITV reality show just days away, it seems confessions were on the agenda this evening as the all stars shared their secrets. After James, 34, was at the centre of one such discussion, the American reality star asked the rugby make a jibe about his wife, Chloe Madeley, 32.
The conversation arose when former EastEnders actor Cliff Parisi, 59, revealed his inadvertent connection to the sportsman.
Telling the rugby star how his brother-in-law was a huge fan, James remarked: “Nice to know someone knows who I am.”
Explaining what he knew of his fellow camp mate, Coronation Street star Andrew Whyment, 33, said: “I just knew you as Chloe Madeley’s husband.”
Praising his beloved, the jungle cast member commented: “She’d love that, she’s successful in her own right, best-selling author, intelligent,” before Caitlyn made her jibe.
“What the hell is she doing with you?” the American reality star joked.
As well as her own successes, Chloe is the daughter of television royalty, Richard Madeley, 63, and Judy Finnigan, 71.
The journalist married James last year, with the pair tying-the-knot in December around the festive period.
They had been engaged for eight months prior when James popped the question back in April.
“But the people who leave will give you the inside scoop – and they have come up to me and said he’s doing really well in camp, he’s cheering people up, and they absolutely adore him.
“I just think he had a really grumpy day. He was sleep deprived, he was food deprived and he was surrounded with people you aren’t necessarily friends with,” Chloe explained.
Caitlyn’s swipe was taken better by James than other comments which have been in the jungle over the past couple of days.
The American reality star is one of the hot favourites to win the crown in just under a week’s time.
According to the latest odds from thepools.com bookmakers, Caitlyn is at 8/1 to become the next Queen of the jungle.
James’ chances are slimmer however, with his standing to win at 33/1.
To make the hugely coveted jungle hall of fame, the American will have to fight off stiff competition from the likes of Roman Kemp, 26, who sits at 13/8.
Leading the way is soap star Andrew, leading the charge at 6/5 to become champion.
