In the meantime, Sean’s brother Billy (Brian Vernel) goes to rescue their sister Jaqueline (Valene Kane) as he knows the investors and police are on their tail.
He explains he has had a rescue plan in place for her for many years, and had organised for her to stay at a safehouse, with a brand new identity so she can be rid of the Wallace name.
The pair are last seen at an airport, and it is likely they managed to escape together, with no idea their brother Sean is dead.
There is definitely scope for another series as fans are waiting to find out what happened to Billy, Jacqueline, and Marian.
More than two million viewers watched the first episode within the first seven days of release. Director of Drama and Sky Studios, Cameron Roach said: “We are delighted by the response to Gangs of London and to have brought Gareth Evans unique cinematic vision to the small screen for the first time.
“This epic saga, with family at its heart and visceral action-packed fight sequences has taken audiences on an immersive journey into the underbelly of London’s modern-day criminal underworld.
“The record-breaking results are testament to Sky’s ongoing commitment to innovation and championing the very best of bold, British drama.”
