However, it seems some fans haven’t been enjoying the finale and have certainly made their angry voices heard on Twitter.
Since The Bells got the lowest approval rating for any Game of Thrones episodes, someone has launched a petition for season eight to be remade.
Dylan D created the following on Change.org: “Remake Game of Thrones season eight with competent writers.”
The disgruntled fan added: “David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have proven themselves to be woefully impotent writers when they have no source material (i.e. the books) to fall back on.
“This series deserves a final season that makes sense. Subvert my expectations and make it happen, HBO!”
At time of publication, over 878,000 people have signed the petition and it has certainly made a lot of headlines.
So far, HBO and the Game of Thrones team have kept quiet on the matter, but now one star of the show has finally responded to the four-day old petition.
A TMZ reporter asked Jacob Anderson, who plays Grey Worm, what he made of the matter and he while stepping into his car, he simply said: “That sucks.”
In episode five, Daenerys Targaryen (played by Emilia Clarke) torched King’s Landing, even though Cersei Lannister’s (Lena Headey) had surrendered.
As a result, the now Mad Queen knowingly killed thousands of innocent residents when she chose to ignore the defeat sign.
Many believed this was out of character for Daenerys and as they watched the episode, flocked to Twitter in outrage over the whole thing.
One said: “I’m sorry but this season has been a f***king disgrace. Seven seasons of character development and D&D have absolutely ruined Daenerys and Jaime’s characters. I love this show, but this is just disgusting.”
Another commented: “Daenerys locked her dragons up when ONE innocent child died. her vengeance was never directed at the innocent. she has always had kindness for the innocent. they ruined all that in one episode.”
A third shared: “Never been a huge #Daenerys fan, but she deserved much better. This season’s ‘writing’ COMPLETELY ruined Dany and Jaime’s arcs, Jon was made useless, Tyrion stupid, Sansa a power hungry b***h, Arya a walking piece of plot armour, Ghost unloved etc. F THIS SEASON.”
What’s more, Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) was killed off but many believe he is still alive in a big twist.
He supposedly died while in the Red Keep with Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey), but many think he might actually have survived the falling rubble.
None of the cast members have paid tribute to him, despite doing so for every other character that has bowed out.
Furthermore, Entertainment Weekly said they were “holding” their interview with Nikolaj for now.
Game of Thrones season eight concludes Sunday at 2am on HBO and is simulcast on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV in the UK.
