Game of Throne will air its final episode tonight and as fans wait for the HBO epic to reach its climax, many have been speculating over who will take the Iron Throne for good.
Despite the city being surrounded, the penultimate episode ended with Daenerys Targaryen (played by Emilia Clarke) burning King’s Landing to the ground.
As she transformed into the Mad Queen, Daenerys revealed her true tyrannic nature and so can not be the ruler who can bring peace to the realm.
Before his brutal death, Varys (Conleth Hill) confessed to Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) that he did not think Daenerys would make a good ruler.
He remarked: “Have you considered the best ruler might be someone who doesn’t want to rule?”
Even though Varys was talking about Jon Snow (Kit Harrington), it could be a hint that Bran Stark (Issac Hempstead-Wright) will take the throne.
Earlier in the episode, Tyrion told Bran that his ability to know of history of Westeros would help him as Lord of Winterfell.
But Bran corrected him and said: “I’m not Lord of Winterfell,” to which Tyrion replied: “You’re the only surviving true born son of Ned Stark.”
“You don’t get it,” he added before Bran revealed: “I don’t want anymore.
Since becoming the Three-Eyed Raven, Bran has been focussed on his new responsibility rather than who should or shouldn’t rule the realm.
Could Tyrion realise that Bran may be the best person to rule?
Betway is predicting Bran will sit on the Iron Throne with even odds.
Alan Alger, a representative, said: “Everyone is talking about Game of Throne and we expect the viewers to flock in for its finale next Monday.
“Bran Stark has always been regarded as one of the leading contenders to sit on the Iron Throne and we are even-money series eight finishes with him doing that.”
Meanwhile, Tyrion Lannister may be set to kill Daenerys in the final episode.
The youngest Lannister stood by his queen but she ignored their agreement to take the city peacefully if it surrendered.
Tyrion had been determined to keep the deaths of innocent people at a minimum and now his worth fears have been confirmed.
Before the siege, he freed Jamie (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) and urged him to flee with Cersei Lannister (Lena Heady) and ring the city bells.
Although it look like Jamie and Cersei died in the wreckage, how will the Mad Queen react when she discovers Tyrion’s betrayal?
Will Tyrion kill her as revenge for burning the city or perhaps to avoid being killed by her himself?
Game of Thrones season 8 concludes Sunday on HBO in the US and the following day on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV in the UK.
