Dickinson launches on Apple TV next month as a comedic insight into what the poet’s life might have been like. The show forms part of the launch of Apple TV+, which is a brand-new streaming service to rival the likes of Netflix, Amazon Prime and the upcoming Disney+. With a cast led by Hailee Steinfeld, here’s everything that has been revealed so far.

When is Dickinson released on Apple TV+?

The new series of Dickinson will be released on Apple TV+ on November 1.

This will be to coincide with the launch of the streaming service.

Viewers will be able to sign up to the new service on the television series.

The service is set to cost £4.99 a month but will also have a seven-day free trial.

However, Apple is also giving people a year-long subscription along with any purchase of an iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, iPod touch or Mac.

Who is in the cast of Dickinson on Apple TV+?

The cast of Dickinson on Apple TV+ is led by Hailee Steinfeld as poet Emily Dickinson.

The Oscar-nominated actor first broke through with her performance as Mattie Ross in True Grit but has also appeared in Pitch Perfect and The Edge of Seventeen.

Alongside Seinfeld, King of the Hill actor Toby Huss will play Edward Dickinson.

The cast also features Jane Krakowski as Mrs. Dickinson, Adrian Enscoe as Austin Dickinson, Anna Baryshnikov as Lavinia Dickinson and Ella Hunt as Sue Gilbert.

What is the plot of Dickinson on Apple TV+?

The series will focus on the imagined life of famous American poet Emily Dickinson.

Set in her period, the show will apparently have a modern sensibility and tone, according to Deadline.

The show will also explore the world of the poet and the constraints of society, gender, and family placed upon her.

According to the publication, this will be “from the perspective of a budding writer who doesn’t fit in to her own time through her imaginative point of view.

“Dickinson is Emily’s coming-of-age story – one woman’s fight to get her voice heard.”

Is there a trailer for Dickinson on Apple TV+?

Yes, a trailer has been released for the series and makes for hilarious viewing.

The short clip gives an insight into what the new series will be about, including its focus on gender politics.

At one point, Emily can be heard saying: “Maybe they’re scared that if they teach us how the world works, we’ll figure out how to take over.”

However, it seems like the main premise will be following her as she grows up and discovers her talent for writing.

Ahead of its release on Apple TV+, the series has already been renewed for a second season on the platform.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the new outing has already begun production.
