WARNING: This article contains spoilers for Cloak and Dagger season 1
Will there be another season of Cloak and Dagger?
The good news is yes, Cloak and Dagger has been renewed for a second season.
The young adult Marvel series premiered this summer to rave reviews from fans.
It is produced by American broadcaster Freeform and also shown on Amazon Prime Video.
Season one kicked off this June and was renewed soon after in July.
The announcement was made at this year’s SanDiego Comic-Con.
When is Cloak and Dagger season 2 released?
Season two is due to be released in 2019.
Although no concrete release date has been confirmed by Freeform, it is expected to return in the summer the same as this year.
The season one finale aired yesterday (August 2).
The speedy renewal will see production on the forthcoming series begin soon, so hopefully fans won’t have too long to wait for season two.
Who is in the cast of Cloak and Dagger season 2?
Most core cast members are expected to return for season two.
Cloak and Dagger follows two teens Tandy Bowen (played by Olivia Holt) and Tyrone Johnson (Aubrey Joseph), who discover they have hidden superpowers which are somehow linked.
Tandy can emit light daggers and Tyrone has the ability to engulf others in darkness and the two realise that they are better together than apart and form a romantic relationship which gets a little complicated.
Both Holt and Joseph are confirmed to be returning for season two.
Other cast members set to return include Gloria Reuben as Adina Johnson, Andrea Roth as Melissa Bowen, Miles Mussenden as Otis Johnson, Emma Lahana as Brigid O’Reilly and Jamie Cevallos as Delgado.
What will happen in Cloak and Dagger season 2?
Season two will pick up from the aftermath of the season one finale, which saw Tyrone and Tandy’s roles reverse somewhat.
While Tandy stayed out on the run she is back with her family and Tyrone is the one out on his own having finally used his power in the finale.
Speaking about season two, showrunner Joe Pokaski said: “All I can say is sometime season two we’re gonna understand where he [Tyrone] went.”
He told ComicBook.com: “I think Tandy and Tyrone were thrust into the heroic role in season one whether they liked it or not. Thrust into each other’s arms to some degree.
“Literally, I guess, at the end. And she’s choosing to do the right thing. Now you know you can do the same. Do you choose to become a vigilante? What kind of vigilante do you want to become?”
The finale also saw Detective O’Reilly (played by Emma Lahana) transforming superhero Mayhem, so this is also set to be explored further in season two.
Is there a trailer for Cloak and Dagger season 2?
