The One Show presenter Alex Jones, 42, presented the show with Patrick Kielty, 48, last week in Matt Baker’s absence. Back on Thursday, the pair were joined by Monty Don, 64, who spoke to the pair about gardening.
Within their chat, Monty told the duo about a rose which “will grow anywhere,” called a Souvenir du Docteur Jamain.
Monty’s pronunciation of the flower seemingly confused the presenters, who asked him to say it again.
In a bid to be clearer, the American Gardens star broke the lengthy title of the rose down to them.
The gardening expert went on to share more details about the flower, informing the pair that it grows in the shade.
Following this, the host queried Monty about a Virginia creeper, but the show’s guest shut down the idea.
“No, it’s too big,” he replied, adding: “It’s a lazy thing to do.”
Taken aback by his comment, Alex put her hands up to the camera and jokingly repeated his comment.
“Oh, it’s lazy,” she said, as her co-star laughed.
“You think it’s going to do a lot, but actually, it’s not going to do too much,” Monty clarified.
